From the 19th, the two sides broke out fierce fighting in Wong Nai Chung Gap, Repulse Bay and Stanley. On the 24th, the British army was exhausted under isolation and helplessness. Many counterattacks failed to match the Japanese army, which was clearly superior in force and firepower, and was unable to reverse the defeat.
The Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Mark Aitchison Young, decided to surrender on December 25. The British troops stopped fighting and surrendered on December 26, and the war was over. Hong Kong entered the Japanese occupation period which lasted for “three years and eight months“, until Japan was defeated and surrendered on August 15, 1945, and Hong Kong was reborn on August 30 in the same year.
May this man, Peter Choi rest in peace.
I’ve not heard of him before but your article tells all about him and his good works.
Once again, may his soul rest in peace.
Shalom.
Hello Albright, thank you for your comment. It’s not surprising that if you never heard of Peter Choi. Because he is one of veterans who has participated in Battle of Hong Kong in 1941, during WWII. May his soul rest in peace.

Great history lesson for me.
It takes a lot of courage, guts and commitment to be a hero to the country. Thanks to people like him.
Hello Sarina, thank you for your comments. Everyone needs a lot of courage and serve for their countries, including armed soldiers, veteran and whom lost their lives in wars, so that we could live in peace and the greatest world. RIP to all whom lost lives in wars, lest we forget.

I see that you like History that is great, but the people that your sight will be addressing would be limited .
What is your niche for your website?
I read your Bio and in there I saw about 5 diffrent things you want to do and on this post there are more than one subject .
One of the first things we learn is to define your niche in that way we will be more forcus on the subject at hand.
Maybe am wrong but am having a little trouble in defining your site and seeing how you will be able to add affililiate to it.
Much Success

Well documented, I find it great that someone is out there writing stories about a war that took place so long ago. As well as paying tribute to a fallen hero. Thank you for telling us about a man who defended this great nation of ours. As a veteran myself, I can say you did this with the utmost respect. Great job, keep up the the research.
